The SQF Program is recognized by the Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) and links primary production certification to food manufacturing, distribution and agent/broker management certification.
Butter Buds Inc. complies with the FDA’s FSMA (Food Safety Modernization Act) for both human food and pet food. Butter Buds Inc. operates under a Food Safety Plan that employs the use of Preventive Controls and HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points). HACCP was originally conceived to analyze the food our U.S. astronauts took into space. HACCP is a standard food safety concept adopted worldwide. Butter Buds Inc. fulfills the rigorous protocol required for HACCP certification, including providing a Certificate of Analysis (COA) that summarizes the physical and microbiological results of our product testing. Both the Research and Development department and the Applications Lab operate under the food safety plan, complying with all FSMA requirements for complete food safety for any customer samples.
Our Director of Quality Assurance, a food science graduate, is a member of the Institute of Food Technologists (IFT) and International Association for Food Protection (IAFP).
